Dr Nathan Stanley

University of Adelaide

Nathan had the privileged opportunity to complete a PhD at The University of Adelaide with a cross-disciplinary project on the novel chemical synthesis of amino acids towards improved neuropathic pain treatments. Following this he worked at University of Otago, New Zealand, on small molecule tool compounds for disease diagnosis and carbon monoxide releasing molecules to aid with organ transplants. He then spent almost two years at CNRS, France gaining valuable experience with peptide synthesis and purification, before returning to Adelaide to contribute to world class research in his home town. Never letting go of his enthusiasm, today you’ll find him as a research & development scientist in the ARC Graphene Research Hub, unlocking the innovative potential of materials such as graphene, carbon nanotubes and MXenes for the creation of biosensors to transform medical diagnosis and nanocomposites to realize the technologies of tomorrow.
