Professor Mainak Majumder
Hub Deputy Director, Monash University, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
Prof Majumder applies fundamentals of materials science, notably Carbon, to emerging and multidisciplinary areas of separation engineering & energy storage and, in doing so, creates scientific & business opportunities. He has developed an international reputation for inventing innovative fabrication & processing methods, grounded on strong fundamentals, with impact in a wide gamut of engineering applications for e.g. membrane-based separations, super capacitors, batteries, strain sensors, micro-/nano-fluidics and anti-corrosion coatings. He is member of the founding Board of Directors of several graphene-related national activities. He has published over 70 articles in journals including Nature, Nature Chemistry, Nature Communications, and has received more than 5000 citations with an h-index of 27. He was the founding Board of Directors of Ionic Industries which is an Australian public company engaged in commercialisation of graphene-based products. He has delivered over 20 invited talks in countries such as US, China, Portugal, UK, Australia & India.
