Collaboration with UNSW SMaRT centre
The University of Adelaide Hub team welcomed Scientia Professor and Laureate Fellow Veena Sahajwalla Director, Director, ARC Green Manufacturing Research Hub and Director, Centre for Sustainable Materials Research and Technology (SMaRT@UNSW) and her team to discuss potential collaboration opportunities between two Hubs and Centre. Prof Veena is world leader on recycling science and she was visiting Adelaide to promote her new venture, Circular Economy, at Flinders University. The SMaRT centre and Circular Economy are focused on developing new technologies for producing low cost, high quality recycled materials from landfill waste. Her team visited our graphene labs and facilities and discussed the collaboration with ARC graphene hub on using their recycled materials to combine with graphene for developing new value-add products as printed sensors, novel carbon materials and enhanced recycled polymer filaments for 3D printing. Further collaborative projects will be explored in a proposed collaborative workshop with teams from both Hubs to be held next year.
