Graphene projects triumph at UoA 2020 Ingenuity
Honours students presented results from their graphene-focused research projects at this year’s UoA Faculty of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences event, Ingenuity. Nine students presented their work on graphene projects in the virtual event including, Hamood Mohammed H. Alabdali, Quan Anh Huynh, Nur Sufina Ridzuan, Nurzat Shaira Roslan, Trung Quach, Thanh Nguyen, Trong Tuan Anh Tran, Alia Arabain, Nur F. N. Ahmed Zhaini, Alena Chizhova. Ingenuity is an annual event showcasing the excellent project outcomes of ECMS Honours students with a view to potential industry employment or future research collaborations.
Hub projects also gained top honours with work by T. Quach, T. Nguyen and T.T.A. Tran, being awarded the Best Overall Chemical Engineering and Advanced Materials Projects award. The team’s research focused on developing functionalized graphene composites for environmental applications including removing oil from water.
Our great 2020 Honours students were farewelled with cakes to celebrate a successful completion of their research projects and 2020 Ingenuity presentations. So far +50 Honours students have been trained in the Hub over the past 4 years.
